Teach at Marwen!

Marwen is seeking exceptional practicing artists to design and teach visual arts courses for 6-12 graders from all across Chicago. We are looking for experienced Teaching Artists (TAs) with active practices aligned with the core values of creative youth development: youth voice, collective action, and social justice. Marwen’s new Commissions Program offers young people, alumni, emerging artists, and teaching artists valuable experience and employment opportunities. Our programs prioritize the participation of BIPOC/Queer artists to increase pathways for work and educational opportunities within communities historically not represented in arts and/or creative industries.

We are building a roster of Marwen artists for our commission programs, including young people, emerging artists, teaching artists, and alumni. If you are interested in working with an artist in Marwen’s community, please complete this interest form. A staff member will respond to you within 3-5 business days.

Join Marwen's Artist Roster and be considered for new commissioned projects!

Exciting news! We launched a new program at Marwen for emerging artists (18-24 years old), alumni, and teaching artists. The Independent Commission Program offers employment opportunities for artists through commission projects with partners.

Commission work is a valuable way for artists to gain experience, build portfolios, and engage in creative professional work. Within this new program, we are building an Artist Roster to provide structure and clarity around commission requests that come through Marwen. Our goal is to create and support meaningful connections between artists and clients.

After you've added your information to the Artist Roster, Marwen will reach out with project opportunities based on the specific needs of the client, including art medium, skill set, and experience.

If you have experience or demonstrated interest in doing commission projects, please add your name and info to Marwen’s Artist Roster. Please note that we’re prioritizing BIPOC and queer artists and that previously accepted roster artists may update their materials and interest form each year.

Please contact Victoria Timpo at vtimpo@marwen.org with any questions.
